Run girl run
Today was a run around the lake.  My legs didn't like it any better today than they did on Thanksgiving.  Cosmos is loving the run (well it is a walk for him).  My loop was 32 minutes.  My foot pod for my Heart Rate Monitor needs a new battery...so I don't know my pace (which might be a good thing!)  Average heart rate was about 72%.  I finished the last bit at a 80% pace...I'm hoping my body will begin to like the running or at least get use to it.  Of course more consistency on my part couldn't hurt :)

I followed my run with 3 hours of yard work.  I wish I could say that I raked up the last of the leaves; but alas, there are still leaves on two trees.  But I did fill my yard waste bin with leaves and grass.  I mowed (I hope) for the last time this year and fertilized.  My yard needs a lot of TLC; which I'm waiting till the end of March to give it.  Why March?  Well I'll be a free woman by then...I'll have graduated!

Friday
I met Marizel at Marymoore.  Originally we were going to ride the south end of Lake Washington; but with the rain I felt safer on the Sammamish River Trail.  We rode 32 miles.  I felt strong the whole time.  Average Heart Rate was 74 BPM.  Average speed was 12.1 mph.  ride time was 2:40.  It was a great ride even though it rained most of the time.

Thanksgiving
I had a nice run around the lake.  I can tell I haven't been running as often as I should.  It was a good reminder that I need to be more consistent if I want to improve :)

Fun in the woods

Monday, November 24, 2008
I met Marizel in Maple Valley for a ride at Lake Sawyer.  When I got to her house, I was a bit nervous because we were riding to the trails (from her house) and it seemed that the trails were a long ways away.  Not too worry the rail trail was beautiful (along Lake Wilderness) and it was only a few miles to the main trail.  We rode Toy, Bridges and back on Toy.  It was a good ride.  It was the first real winter ride for me.  Winter means wet, muddy and sometimes slick trails.  My riding skills were great and I kept up fine.  I climbed fairly well and overall it was a very fun ride.  We were out for 4 hours and covered 14 miles.  Once I got home my neck was bothering me...I think 4 hours was pushing it a bit...but since I'm on vacation, I want all the fun I can get!  I have two more rides planned for this week.  Tolt with Julie on Wednesday and the South end of Lake Washington with Marizel on Friday.  Sometime this week I have to write a paper!

Sunday November 23, 2008
After a second night of sleeping in, I felt good this morning.  I slowly drank my coffee (waiting for it to warm up a bit outside).  Finally I loaded up the Seven and headed for Marymoore.  Today's goal was 25 miles which is probably pushing it a bit since I've not been riding.  But I really want to start riding around lake Sammamish and down to Seattle, and all the other fun rides; which all require at least 25 miles.  The day was beautiful.  The back of my right ankle complained from mile 5 to 25.  I'm guessing that I'm letting my ankle move up and down a bit.  My average heart rate was 77. Rode 2.07 hours and average a little over 12 miles an hour.

I was wiped out today.  I knew I needed to get some exercise in, but also knew I didn't have much energy.  So I decided I'd work in the yard for an hour or so and thus I did.

Tuesday, November 18
Another Treadmill day.  I've been a bit tired so managing to get up at 5am two days in a row is almost a miracle.

Monday November 17th
Today was a treadmill day.  I managed about 45 minutes with out much umph.

Sunday, November 16th
I've been day dreaming about riding my road bike.  After much dreaming, I did an out and back on the Sammamish River Trail on the Seven.  A total of 15 miles.  It is the first that I've been on the road bike in several months.  My left foot complained most of the time...which is normal for the first day clipped in (in many months).  I had a great ride with amazing weather.

Saturday, November 15th
I spent half of the day cleaning up the yard.  I'm amazed how much manual labor takes out of me.  It was a good day.  I cleaned up and bagged all the leaves and debris from the back yard.  I still have the front yard to clean up; but I don't worry about it much until the last leaf has dropped from the sky...lest I have to do it all over again.

I'm running these days but not much. I'm getting in a couple of runs a week.
