This morning I joined a BBTC.org social mountain bike ride. We rode at Lake Sawyer. Started with teacup, ed's woods and ended with toy trail. Social pace for BBTC usually means that they guys ride Moderate and I ride close to race pace to try to keep up. But we re-group often and no one is left behind.
I started out paced perfectly with one other female rider (Kate) but after about 2 hours, I just couldn't keep up the pace. I've just begun (2006) pushing my middle chain ring and my legs feel good...but it pushes my heartrate up.
I forgot my heartrate monitor at home...so no technical data. Actual ride time was 1.5 hours. We were out for about 2.75 hours. It included one endo for me and other riders had a couple of mechanicals (flat tire) which took some time.
Temperature ranged from 35-39 degrees. It felt good to chase folks...I haven't had a truely fast ride in weeks. I had a hard time recovering (during the ride) ...and I was riding at a very high heartrate.
9 miles: 1.5 hours of actual ride time. Ave speed 5.9mph. Max 15.2
